Every week we will give you the lowdown on kids events in Prospect Heights as well a selection from Crown Heights, Park Slope, Fort Greene and Boerum Hill.

Monday, October 10

Columbus Day Celebration Watch children's stories come to life at Story Book Movie Time (11:30 a.m., ages 5 and under), explore Creatures of the Sea (noon, all ages), learn the art of boat making at Earthworks (1:30 p.m., ages 6+), and touch animals at Live Animal Encounter (4:15 p.m., all ages).  Experiment with and explore art and culture through song, gallery activities, and art making. Parents and adults can work closely with their children and discover creative ways to interact. Fire Awareness Prevention Celebrate Fire Prevention Awareness week with storytelling and practicing the Stop, Drop and Roll technique. Baby Dance Parents/caregivers and their babies come together to support each other and learn and practice dance with ones baby. It involves stretching, strengthening and the learning of rhythm and movement patterns. Gustafer Yellowgold concerts blend live music animated illustrations. Illustrator/songwriter Morgan Taylor’s catchy and original story-songs for a truly different multimedia experience with unusual crossover appeal.
