Every week we will give you the lowdown on kids events in Prospect Heights as well a selection from Crown Heights, Park Slope, Fort Greene and Boerum Hill.

Monday, June 6

Bring your old books in and swap them with new friends.  Youth Wing - Young Adult Reference Desk, 3:30 -7 p.m., Teens, Free.

At this monthly event, teens choose from a collection of newly-published young adult novels to review and discuss. Bring in a written, 1-2 paragraphs, review of the book they picked for the following month. Summer Solstice at Stonehenge Celebrate the Summer Solstice and learn about how Stonehenge was made, along with why it's so mysterious. Create your own model of this sculpture!  2:30 p.m., ages 3 and up, Free with admission.

 Bring your youngsters for fun and song as you sing-a-long with Lloyd Miller. Rousing renditions of itsy-bitsy spider are great for the little ones. , 365 5th Ave (between 5th and 6th St), 10 - 10:30 a.m., $5 per family.

Wednesday, June 8

 Sing-along with Rollie Pollie Guacamolie. This one (as opposed to Tuesday's), takes place in the garden when weather permits. Call first to make sure it's happening at 718-788-2830.  , 365 5th Ave (between 5th and 6th St), 3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m., $5 per family.

Thursday, June 9

Join Brooklyn Children's museum for a fun-filled day off from school! At 9:30 a.m., Bad Kitty visits the museum for a book reading, meet-and-greet, and crafts (ages 3+). At 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., create your own kitty puppet to take home at Kitty Art (ages 5+). At 1:30 p.m., start your own garden at Lunchbox Gardens Workshop (ages 4+).  Free with admission.

All day festivities at the Central Library include a performance by the Silly Dilly Band, a drum circle led by the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, and selections from the Calpulli Mexican Dance Company. Join DJ Colleen Crumbcake in the afternoon for a dance party! , 10:30-2:30 p.m., all ages, Free

Sun Tales - Egypt Explore the ancient Egyptian sun gods and create a sun-inspired Egyptian headdress. Stick around for (11:30 a.m., 5 and under),  (2:30 p.m., 5 and under), and (noon, all ages).   2:30 p.m., ages 3+, Free with admission ($7.50). 

P for Puppets  Presents: One, Two, Tres! This bilingual (Spanish/ English) puppet show created for babies and children to become immersed in a magical world of puppetry, which focuses on visual, auditory and verbal stimuli and provides a wonderful bonding experience between parents and children. The performance is designed to run 25 minutes to cater to infant’s and toddler’s limited attention span.  This adaptation of  "A Midsummer's Nights Dream" is about a group of construction workers in Prospect Park. Kids can play in the fountain after ths show (so bring bathing suits!). Seating is on the ground. Prospect Park - Imagination Playground (Ocean Avenue between Parkside Avenue and Lincoln Road), 11 a.m., Free.

 Make cool all-natural and recycled crafts with a new project each week. The Audubon Center at the Boathouse (just inside the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to Prospect Park). 2-3 p.m., all ages, Free.

 Join a naturalist for cool and fun science activities. AThe Audubon Center at the Boathouse (just inside the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to Prospect Park), 1-2pm, all ages, Free.

 Transport yourself back in time - play games and make crafts just like kids did in 19th Century Brooklyn. Lefferts Historic House at Prospect Park (enter at the intersection of Flatbush and Ocean Avenues and Empire Boulevard), 2:30-3:30 p.m., all ages, Free.

Beautiful Butterflies Explore the habitat of butterflies, learn about their favorite flowers, and make butterfly art. Stick around for (11:30 a.m., 5 and under),  (2:30 p.m., 5 and under),  (noon, all ages) and Live Animal Encounter (4:15 p.m., all ages).   1:30 p.m., ages 4+, Free with admission ($7.50).

Stories in the Park This story session is for the whole family. Lenape Indian tales from the Red Storm Drum and Dance Troupe and tanti stories from Trinidad will be read by artist Euston James. Lefferts Historic House at Prospect Park (enter at the intersection of Flatbush and Ocean Avenues and Empire Boulevard), 3-4 p.m., all ages, Free.

Kids Make Music with Bonga Using percussion instruments like handmade drums; tcha-tchas, and wooden blocks, Bonga leads a special rhythm workshop. Tune into and enjoy your own rhythm and voice. Gumbo, 493 Atlantic Avenue (between Nevins & 3rd), 11:30 - 12:15 p.m., all ages, $10/child, $5/adult & siblings (space limited, call to reserve).
