Every week we will give you the lowdown on kids events in Prospect Heights as well a selection from Crown Heights, Park Slope, Fort Greene and Boerum Hill.

Monday, June 20

 Play with toys and hear fun stories. , Youth Wing, 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., 0-5 years, Free. 

Uncle Thrifty is a Jack-of-all-trades, making his sideshow performance the main act at Southpaw. There will be science, magic, song, dance and more.  Southpaw, 125 5th Avenue, 8 p.m., all ages, $5.

Tuesday, June 21

This family-friendly outdoor concert features new songs and old standards. The collection of songs is based on the writings of children and an open mic for amateur voices to shine. Make Music New York Kick off the first day of  summer with free outdoors concerts on Washington Avenue and all over Brooklyn. The list of Washington Avenue locations is here.  10 a.m. - 10 p.m., Free.

Story Hour A weekly story hour for preschoolers with storyteller Tom Stamp. Tom will read from his favorite picture books, play some tunes on his guitar, and lead fingerplays to get everyone singing and playing along. , 315 4th Ave at 3rd St., 10-11 a.m., $5/family.

 Sing-along with Rollie Pollie Guacamolie. This one (as opposed to Tuesday's), takes place in the garden when weather permits. Call first to make sure it's happening at 718-788-2830.  , 365 5th Ave (between 5th and 6th St), 3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m., $5 per family.

Prospect Park Carousel Prospect Park's legendary Carousel is fun for both kids and adults.Prospect Park, Children’s Corner (just inside the Willink entrance to the Park, at Ocean and Flatbush Avenues and Empire Boulevard), 12-5 p.m., all ages, $2/ride ($9/book of 5 tickets).

 Listen to bedtime stories and get a free Keats book. Pajamas and teddy bears are optional. , Youth Wing - Teen Reading Room, 7:30-8 p.m., 3-8 years, Free. 

Kids Sing-Along Join Ivan for this “drum-along” event. , 365 5th Ave (between 5th and 6th St), 10-11 a.m., $5 per family.

Felix Hernandez Rhythm Revue Renowned DJ Felix Hernandez brings his Rhythm Revue to Grand Army Plaza for a FREE dance party under the arch as part of "Jazz: Brooklyn's Beat."  , Eastern Pkwy & Flatbush Ave, 4-7 p.m., Free.

 This adaptation of  "A Midsummer's Nights Dream" is about a group of construction workers in Prospect Park. Kids can play in the fountain after ths show (so bring bathing suits!). Seating is on the ground. Prospect Park - Imagination Playground (Ocean Avenue between Parkside Avenue and Lincoln Road), 11 a.m., Free.

 Bring the whole family for workshops and hands-on activities that explore plant and animal life cycles, and enjoy the garden in the Spring.  Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 1000 Washington Ave, 11- 1 p.m., Free.

 Show your kids the fun and rewards of reducing, reusing and recycling at this specially-themed GrowNYC Stop 'N' Swap.  Share books, clothing and shoes that your child has outgrown and take home gently used items that you can use. Adults must be accompanied by children or sign in and show photo ID upon entry for the safety of young visitors. , 2-4 p.m., all ages, Free.
