Monday, July 18

 Want to talk to other area stay-at-home dads? This is a group for fathers and children - all are welcome! Postmark Cafe, 326 6th Street (between 4th and 5th Aves), 9-10 a.m., Free.

Storytime Each week, stories are told - come use your imagination and listen to the tales. The Moxie Spot, 81 Atlantic Ave (at Hicks St), noon, $2.50/child.

Tuesday, July 19

 Every Tuesday morning, Habana Outpost becomes a playspace, and a teacher will run an arts and crafts project. All are welcome! , 757 Fulton St, 10 a.m., all ages, Free.

Wednesday, July 20

 Sing-along with Rollie Pollie Guacamolie. This one (as opposed to Tuesday's), takes place in the garden when weather permits. Call first to make sure it's happening at 718-788-2830.  , 365 5th Ave (between 5th and 6th St), 3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m., $5 per family.

Thursday, July 21

Prospect Park Carousel Prospect Park's legendary Carousel is fun for both kids and adults.Prospect Park, Children’s Corner (just inside the Willink entrance to the Park, at Ocean and Flatbush Avenues and Empire Boulevard), 12-5 p.m., all ages, $2/ride ($9/book of 5 tickets).

Kids Sing-Along Join Ivan for this “drum-along” event. , 365 5th Ave (between 5th and 6th St), 10-11 a.m., $5 per family.

French Storytime Come say “Bon Jour” and enjoy French stories and songs. This event is great for children of French families or parents looking to expose their kids to a new language. Mini Max Toys & Cuts, 151 Atlantic Ave (at Clinton St), 10 a.m., all ages, Free.

Crafts Around the World Each week's craft is inspiried by a different country. Mini Max Toys & Cuts, 151 Atlantic Ave (at Clinton St), 11 a.m., all ages, Free.

 In this unique participatory screening of West Side Story,  the lyrics to this musical  will be displayed on Brooklyn’s enormous outdoor screen. Additionally, Officer Krupke (played by the choreographer Lawrence Goldhuber) will teach audiences some of the famous steps. Prospect Park Bandshell, Prospect Park W & 9th St, 8 p.m., all ages, $3 suggested donation.

YOUTHursday Students learn the screen printing process to help them create their very own patches, stickers, Converse sneakers, boogie boards (and more!), printed with their own artwork! Try to send a Photoshop/Illustrator document or jpeg of your digital artwork beforehand. , 54 2nd Ave, 12-3 p.m., Teens, $65.

Explore paint, crayons, oil pastels, collage materials, air-dry clay and recycled sculpture in this process-oriented art class.  Each class will feature a unique theme, which all three main activities will focus on. , 283 Grand Ave, ages 2-4, 9-9:45 a.m., $25/drop-in (pre-registration is required).

New York Transit Museum Performances All aboard for a journey to the past! Take a trip back in time with a performer on one of the Transit Museum’s vintage subway or elevated train cars. Each week a different character brings transit history to life with an interactive performance. New York Transit Museum, 130 Livingston Street, 10th Floor, 1:30 p.m., ages 5+, Free with museum admission ($6 adults/$4 kids and seniors).

 Every week we will read a folktale or fairy tale from around the world, and then do a craft project inspired by the story. , Youth Wing, 2:30-3:30 p.m., 3-6 years, Free.

 Every friday this summer, Brooklyn Children's Museum opens its doors free of admission. This week, celebrate with "Through the Looking Glass," a cutting edge, re-imagining of Lewis Carroll's classic "Alice" stories. This visually stunning experience puts a new spin on the idea of site-specific performance and public art. , 6:30 p.m., all ages, Free.

How To Fight An Oil Spill  Roll up your sleeves and get ready to learn how this muck mucks up an ecosystem. Clean up your own mini oil spill with dispersants and polymers. , 4:30 p.m., ages 4+, Free with admission ($7.50/ea).

 Visit the Totally Tots Art Studio at Brooklyn Children’s Museum and discover all the activites that are in store for your young Picasso.
