Reader Debra Van Enkenvoort shares photos of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at the Barclays Center from a ringside seat on opening night. 

As acrobats, clowns, lions and elephants performed inside, hundreds of animal rights protesters gathered outside to voice concerns about animal cruelty. 

The circus performs at Barclays through April 1.
