For Ron Nesbitt, painting isn't just a hobby - it's a daily, 12-hour job.
Since he was 23, Queens-born Nesbitt has been painting glass landscapes and pictures to display on streets like Nevin and St. John's Place - now, on Vanderbilt Avenue.
"I like being outside around people," he said.
Nesbitt often takes suggestions as to what to paint. Right now, his displayed works include a painting of the Yankees Stadium and a depiction of the Battle of Brooklyn (from the American Revolution) that he has been working on for two days.
"People see more than I see," he said. "I'm just transferring what I'd do on canvas to glass."
The artist said he finished roughly 20 paintings each year. He does not sell them outside, as per city laws; only privately.
