Sugarwolf is a Rock 'n Roll band from Brooklyn by way of the north country: Minnesota and New Hampshire.  We're the dirty, soulful side of indie rock, with the reference point of the late 60's and early 70's, a high water mark of songwriting, arranging and instrumental performance.  Guitarist McGowan Southworth, bassist Jent LaPalm and drummer Alec Roeser's combined resume includes artists Ben Lee, John Legend, Fischerspooner and Catchpenny.

Though he spends his weekdays tackling the dicey environmental issues you see in the news (Bachelors of Science in Geology) he is most comfortable on-stage under the lights. Sam has shared the stage with his extended family, opening for Rufus Wainwright, Lucy Wainwright Roche and of course his mom Sloan Wainwright.  Sam writes and sings from a deep emotional place in a rich, gravelly blues voice which opens a window into the mind of this promising songwriter.

Matt met Lindsay while she was busking on the 23rd Street 6 platform. He almost missed the train while she scrambled to hand him a card. Emails were exchanged, and a coffeehouse meeting on a very, very rainy day in Brooklyn begat Sunshowers. They now play around the Tri-state area, and plan to release debut singles this summer. Their music can be best described as: "Dueling electric guitars and vocals from the land of reverb," or "60s surf rock riffing with the finesse of mid-1970s California pop rock."
