Stanley John Mitchell and His Band of Buddies @ The Way Station

Stan’s trio performs live with a novel twist. Not only does he play guitar and sing but he also plays percussion with his feet. You could say it’s a one-man-band with friends.
The sound is ideally suited to the pubs and cafes that now dominate the NY music scene.
The native born New Zealander arrived in NY in 1979 as main songwriter and drummer for the legendary Drongos.
His current repertoire of original songs reflect his deep love of American roots music, including Rockabilly, country blues, early rhythm and blues etc. With his Kiwi (New Zealander) background though, the music is refreshingly original.
Influences include: Richard Thompson, Mumford and Sons, Lucinda Williams, John Lennon, Chuck Berry, Liam and both Finn Brothers.
