Planet Under Pressure: Climate Change and Mass Transit

On the August Sunday after tropical storm Irene blasted through the five boroughs, New York City exhaled. Manhattan hadn’t flooded, and the subway system was not submerged in salt water, a fear that led to the unprecedented step of shutting down the entire transit system. Andrea Bernstein leads this panel on climate change’s potential impact on our mass transit network.
