Pixelating: Indie Films in Black: Medicine for Melancholy & Habesha Life

Medicine for Melancholy is a love story told through two African American 20-somethings who deal with issues of class, identity and the evolving conundrum of being a minority in rapidly gentrifying San Francisco. Habesha Life is an episodic online short film series about young habesha/abesha (Ethiopian or Eritrean) people in and around Washington, D.C. Films are followed by a discussion with the directors.
