Indie Flick & "Behind The Scenes" at Brooklyn Museum

This new weekly series of performances, films, gallery talks, and tours for adults takes place every Thursday at 7 p.m. This week's events include:

POV Independent Film Off and Running (Nicole Opper, 2010, 76 min.). A coming-of-age film about an African American track star from Brooklyn raised by Jewish lesbians. Presented in collaboration with the award-winning documentary series POV. Tickets, which include Museum admission, are $10; ($6 for members and cultural colleagues). Seating is limited; advance purchase recommended via www.brownpapertickets.com.

Secrets of the Collection: "Behind the Scenes: What Are They Working on in the Conservation Lab?"with conservator Lisa Bruno. Free with Museum admission. Reservations are required. RSVP to museum.guides@brooklynmuseum.org.
