Furee in Pins and Needles

This revival of the 1937 hit musical, originally performed by union members of the ILGWU on Broadway, is performed by members of FUREE.

In 1937, Pins and Needleswas written for and performed by members of The International Ladies Garment Workers'  Union.  With songs by Harold Rome,  ILGWU members sang out for all the people fighting for jobs, housing,  a minimum wage, immigrants' rights and economic justice; performed sketches that satirized fascism and  the right-wing reactionaries who rose up against FDR's New Deal.

Fast forward to 2011 - in the new adaptation of the original, members of FUREE sing out for the same rights. This time, it's filled with sketches satirizing our own reactionaries, and this time in Brooklyn!
