BAMcafé Live All-Stars: Melvin Van Peebles widLaxative

BAM continues it's 150th anniversary celebration by kicking off it's BAMcafé Live All-Stars series with Renaissance man Melvin Van Peebles, icon of film (Sweet, Sweetback’s Baadassss Song), literature, and nearly every other facet of American culture.

A three-time Grammy nominee, 11-time Tony Award nominee, and Emmy winner, Van Peebles is also a pioneer in rap and avant-garde jazz, and comes to BAMcafé Live with both via his edgy group Laxative, comprised of members of post-funk improv group Burnt Sugar.

Happy hour begins at 6 p.m., and this event is free.
