Without fail, the West Indian Day Parade on Eastern Parkway is the craziest event of the year in the five boroughs - reaching an almost riot-like frenzy and Rolling Stones-like capacity. Come enjoy the madness of the crowds and the colors, then slip away for a more relaxed vibe at our 4th Annual West Indian Day Parade ...Oasis Away From It at 617 St. Johns Place (between Classon and Franklin, across from the always-too-crowded beer garden).
Located in a large, hidden backyard just two short blocks from the parade but a world away from the madness, this is the perfect HQ for you and your friends' day-long parade enjoyment. From noon to midnight, there will be local DJs playing the best Reggae, Hip Hop and Soul, friendly local people (YOU!), and beverages served - all for only $15 (re-entry ok).
Featuring ToneEP, RankingIY, DJR and more! Go to www.facebook.com/crowhillcollective for details, including very important access directions that will skirt you around NYPD crowd control.
