Date Set for Barbra Streisand's 'Back to Brooklyn' Concert at Barclays

Singer will take the stage on Oct. 11 for first-ever public concert in her native borough; Tickets go on sale later this month.

 

Get your speed dial ready: tickets for Barbra Steisand's first-ever Brooklyn concert go on sale soon.

The Brooklyn native will perform at the Barclays Center on Oct. 11, just .

This will be the first time that Steisand, who grew up in Flatbush and graduated from Erasumus Hall High School, has ever performed in Brooklyn, and it's her first large-scale performance in six years.  

"Brooklyn to me means the Loews Kings, Erasmus, the Yeshiva I went to, the Dodgers, Prospect Park, great Chinese food. I'm so glad I came from Brooklyn‚ down to earth. I guess you CAN come home again," she said in a news release on her website.

"When I first thought about building an arena in Brooklyn, I always envisioned Barbra Streisand coming home to take center-stage in her native borough," enthused Barclays Center developer Bruce Ratner in the release. And Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz added, "They just don't get any bigger than this daughter of Brooklyn."

Tickets for the Streisand concert will go on sale shortly. You can sign up here for an opportunity to get early access to tickets now. Tickets will also be available through Ticketmaster or by by calling 800-745-3000 beginningMay 21 at 10 a.m. In addition, NETS All Access ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the concerts before the general public. I am surprise that she would do that knowing the history of Braclays bank.I loved Streisand by will not buy anything does again. Money will make some people to sell there souls.

and most people attending this show will be coming 'Back to Brooklyn' . I don't thing there are many people actually living in Brooklyn anymore who will go see her.
