Photos: Brooklyn Museum's New Cafe

Haven't been there yet? Here's a peek inside.

Relocated to a new locale on the main floor with an outdoor view and a  innovative menu, the Brooklyn Museum of Art's cafe has become a mecca for visitors looking for a place to eat well and relax.

The cafe, which opened in the fall, is part of a redesign of the museum's first floor. It takes over the space previously occupied by the relocated and expanded Museum Shop.

The new cafe has a larger dining area with a glass wall overlooking the Steinberg Sculpture garden and Depression-era murals by American abstract artists Ilya Bolotowsky, Balcomb Green, Paul Kelpe, and Albert Swinden.

In addition to the cafe and gift shop, the museum has also completed two major gallery spaces in the center of the ground floor.  An outdoor dining terrace is also planned.
