Beyoncé Confirmed to Play Barclays This Summer

Live Nation announced on Sunday that 'The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour' tickets for North American dates will go on sale Feb. 11.

For many artists, performing at the Presidential inauguration, followed by the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show just a few weeks later, would be enough excitement to tide one over for an entire year.

But when it comes to Grammy-winning recording artist Beyoncé, those two events were merely the appetizers in a year-long buffet. In fact, Live Nation announced on Sunday that the former "single lady" will be kicking off a world tour beginning this April.

The best part? She's coming to Prospect Heights.

The Barclays Center, naturally.

After the release of her much buzzed-about fifth album in March, Beyoncé will embark on a world tour stopping in twenty European cities, including Dublin, Ireland; Berlin, Germany; Paris, France and a four-night stint in London, UK.

Next will come the North American leg of the tour stopping in another twenty cities, and after that the second wave of the tour will land in Latin America, Australia and Asia.

"The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour promises to be the entertainer’s most ambitious undertaking to date," stated an announcement by Live Nation. "It is expected to be bigger in scope than any of her previous shows."

Public sales for the North American dates begin on Monday, Feb. 11, at www.ticketmaster.com. A complete list of tour dates and on-sale dates can be found here. Additional information is available at www.beyonce.com

If you need a Beyoncé fix in the meantime, you can tune in to her documentary, "Life Is But a Dream" on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
