5 Things You Need to Know Today: Comedy, Wacky Tuesdays, Apartheid Film, Alternate Side, Subway Changes

Prospect Heights-area events and information you won't want to miss.

1. You need to know if you have to move your car. Apparently, you don't.* Alternate side parking rules are suspended tomorrow, according to 311. We're not sure why, it's not some exotic holiday, but hey, we'll take it.

2. You need to use your brain. Tonight begins "South Africa in Focus," a film discussion series examining apartheid at the . Tonight's documentary is ""  which examines apartheid. 6:30 p.m. Free.

3. You need to know if your train is running. Brooklyn-bound 2 Trains are skipping Bergen, Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Parkway midnight until 5 a.m. through Friday, according to the MTA. For service to these stations, take the 2/3 to Franklin Avenue and transfer to the Manhattan-bound train.

4. You need to get the kids out of the house. Today is  at the Brooklyn Children's Museum, so why not take the 10-minute ride on the B65 today? Children will explore art, science, and culture "in a fun and wacky way," according to the museum. Ages 5 and under are welcome. 145 Brooklyn Ave., 11:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. $7.50 for museum admission, free for babies 12 months and under.

5. You need to laugh. Head to Union Hall, 702 Union St. (at Fifth Avenue), where tonight is  This week's performers are Roz G., Terry Hodges, Jay the Comeian and Jason Andors. 7:30 p.m. $10.
