5 Things You Need To Know: Sewing, Stand-Up and Getting Wacky

Area events and information you won't want to miss on Tuesday, December 28.

1. You need to scratch a creative itch. Join the folks at Launchpad for the weekly sewing collective, Come work on a personal project or contribute to a group project.  Bring your ideas for other arts, crafts, mosaic, textile, etc work. 2. You need to meditate. hosts "The Healing Pleasure of Drone Instruments" on the last Saturday of every month. The drone effect occurs when a note is continuously sustained. When performed with certain Asian instruments, the drone sound can produce healing qualities. Find out more tonight at 6 p.m. 1102 Dean Street, Apt 4. $15 suggested donation (but nobody will be turned away because of lack of funds!).

3. You need to laugh. Every Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. is in the basement at . There is a one drink minimum. 807 Classon Avenue.

4. You need support. The LGBT legal clinic is being hosted in partnership with the Urban Justice Center and the Brooklyn Center for Independence of the Disabled, and is open to all. The clinic is open on the last Tuesday of every month. It is advised to call ahead for an appointment through The Brooklyn Community Pride Center, 718-802-3890. 27 Smith Street, 6-8 p.m.

5. You need to get wacky. Come visit the Brooklyn Children's Museum and explore art, science, and culture in a fun and wacky way at . Ages 5 and under are welcome. Wacky Tuesdays take place every Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. 145 Brooklyn Avenue, free with $7.50 museum admission.
