5 Things You Need To Know: Karaoke, Walking Tours, and More on Christmas Day
Area events and information you won't want to miss.
1. You need karaoke to complete your Christmas night. Come down to Southpaw for the annual Jewltide party. Come for the drink specials. Come for the donuts. Come for the live band karaoke contest! 4. You need to get the kids out of the house. Take a walk down to the Audubon Center in Prospect Park. At 12pm, take an "Introduction to Birdwatching" class and lean about the 250 species that live in the park. At 3pm, the "Discover Tour" utilizes binoculars to scout birds and learn about the animal residents.
5. You need to relax before the chaos of Christmas dinner. The Urban Park Rangers present "Journey Through Time: Fort Greene," a popular walking tour that showcases the park and the surrounding neighborhood. Guides will also give participants a peek inside the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument. Those interested should meet at 11am at the Fort Greene Park Visitors Center (most easily accessible from the Washington Park & Willoughby Ave entrance).
