5 Things: Ladysmith Black Mambazo at Celebrate Brooklyn!

Plus avant-garde jazz vocals at Tea Lounge, bluegrass/Americana/Rock at The Way Station and a Guns and Roses all-female tribute band at The Rock Shop.

1. Celebrate South African culture. In what is a particularly timely performance, tonight at Celebrate Brooklyn!, the South African choral and dance group LADYSMITH BLACK MAMBAZO will perform. Also performing is singer and guitarist AURELIO MARTÍNEZ, "the standard bearer of Garifuna music" and the first black member of Honduras’ National Congress, according to event organizers. Prospect Park Bandshell (enter at 9th street and Prospect Park West), 7:30 p.m. (but get there early for a good spot). $3 suggested donation.

2. See the local stars. The Prospect Heights-based Avidya & the Kleshas is playing at Tea Lounge tonight. If you like John Frusciante and Joni Mitchell but prefer it with the avant-garde kick of groups like Florance & the Machine, Fiona Apple, and Portishead, then the show is a must for tonight's agenda. 837 Union St. at 7th Ave., 9 p.m. Free.

3. Kickin good time. If your tastes run more towards bluegrass and Americana, then head to The Way Station tonight for a line-up of Jedediah Parish + Kings County Ramblers + Salt Cracker Crazies + Grain Theif. 683 Washington Ave. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Free.

4. Rock on. If you're more in the mood for hard rock, head to The Rock Shop for Guns N Hoses, the all-female GNR tribute band. 249 4th Ave. between President St. and 5th Ave., $12.

5. Hit the road. Alternate side parking is in effect today. The next suspension is July 4.
