Here's the weekly lowdown on kids events in Prospect Heights plus a selection from Prospect Park, North Park Slope, Fort Greene, Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Crown Heights.

Monday, February 20

 Kids can travel the world’s deserts and rain forests through hands-on activities inside Brooklyn Botanic Garden's conservatories and take a plant home. Meet at the Steinhardt Conservatory. , 1000 Washington Ave., 11 a.m. This program is free, as is garden admission on winter weekdays.

 Every afternoon this week there are events at the Boathouse including showings of episodes from Life, a kids nature film series, crafts, nature and bird walks and park clean-ups. See the daily schedule here. Prospect Park Boathouse, right inside the Lincoln Road entrance. 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Free. 

 Kids learn how to play Nine-Man Morris and make their own playing board to take home. Lefferts Historic House at Prospect Park (Use entrance at Flatbush and Ocean Avenues), 1-3 p.m. Free.

Brooklyn Children's Museum Events The museum opens at 9:30 a.m. this week instead of 10 and has events for kids all day including several in honor of Black History Month. See their schedule here. 145 Brooklyn Ave. bet. St. Marks and Prospect. Free with admission of $7.50 for everyone 1 year and older.

 Each week Annie Nieves will lead the group in an art project that promotes creativity and experimentation. The class also includes some independent play and concludes with music and a sing-a-long.
