Monday, April 16 

 Each week Annie Nieves will lead the group in an art project that promotes creativity and experimentation. The class also includes some independent play and concludes with music and a sing-a-long. Wednesday, April 18

Saturday, April 21 

Prospect Heights Craft Fair The craft fair not only sells artisan crafts and food to raise money for kids programs at the school, it also offers a full schedule of kids events including crafts, soccer clinics, music performances and lectures from a Brooklyn-based Monstrologist. A schedule of the kids’ events is available here. 80 Underhill Ave. at Bergen, $5 per child for a full day of events. 

Story Play Kids 0-5 play with toys and hear stories. , 10 Grand Army Plaza. 10-11 a.m. Free.

Greenlight Kids Story Time This week, Japanese photographer Takashi Owaki will lead kids on a journey around the world, where they can color in the countries on their own world map and learn about the children who live there.  Then kids can write down their own dreams, and Mr. Owaki will take their photo to glue beside it. , 686 Fulton St. (at S Portland St), 11 a.m., ages 3-8, Free.

 Everyone's favorite puppet journeys through the Land of the Toys, meets a singing and dancing fox and cat, and is rescued from the belly of a whale. , 10 Grand Army Plaza, 1 p.m. Free.

There are more than 250 species of birds in Prospect Park. See some of them at this weekly event that is engaging for both older children and adults. The Audubon Center at the Boathouse (just inside the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to Prospect Park), 12-1:30 p.m., Free.

Lefferts House Events Today this historic house is hosting Second Floor Tours (1-3:30 on the half hour) and Race Around the Farmyard (2:30-3:30 p.m.). Lefferts Historic House at Prospect Park (Use entrance at Empire Boulevard and Flatbush and Ocean Avenues), Free.

 Make all-natural and recycled crafts with a new project each week. The Audubon Center at the Boathouse (just inside the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to Prospect Park). 1-3 p.m., all ages, Free.

Nature's Helpers Families can take a tour of the Park and its waterways and help keep it clean along the way. Gloves, garbage bags and trash grabbers will be provided. The Audubon Center at the Boathouse (just inside the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to Prospect Park). 2-3 p.m. Free.

Transit Museum: The Great Subway Search Discover key signs, symbols and subway parts in this unique scavenger hunt through vintage cars. For ages 4+. New York Transit Museum, Corner of Boerum Pl & Schermerhorn St, 1:30 p.m., Free with museum admission (adults $7, kids 2-17 and seniors $5).

Sunday, April 22

Art, Magic and Puppets A new learning center is asking area kids to help them decorate their walls. Kids who participate will have their artwork framed and on display (with a title/artist plaque, of course!). The event will also include magic and puppetry demonstrations. Concerning Learning, 213 Eastern Parkway bet. Washington and Classon, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Free. 

 The Museum’s collections will inspire kids to imagine and create new worlds while exploring color and other elements of art in this ninety-minute class. , 200 Eastern Parkway,11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Ages 4-7, $10 plus museum admission of $12 adults, $8 seniors and students, children under 12, free.

Enjoy nature games, tours, lakeshore clean-up, educational activities, performances and crafts. Special events include Recording why you love the Audubon at the Beat Cave; Making a musical instrument from recycled materials with Bash the Trash and an Animal Encounter with a Bird of Prey from the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary The Audubon Center at the Boathouse (just inside the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to Prospect Park). 1-4 p.m., all ages, Free.
