VIDEO: The 2011 West Indian Day Parade and Carnival

Another year and another reason to wind, jump up and wave!

Yesterday marked the 43rd anniversary of the West Indian Day Parade.

The parade has earned the distinction as New York City's biggest cultural festival, as every year without fail, millions of Brooklynites & New Yorkers line up along Eastern Parkway to catch the color, excitement, skin and food!

Floats, along with its crowds of dancers surrounding them, represented every island in the Caribbean, including St. Vincent, Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad, Barbados and Haiti, while hundreds of thousands watched from the sidelines and "jumped up and waved" the flag of their country of origin.
