The Week Atlantic Yards Critics Struck a Blow

Area bloggers respond to a recent court ruling, criticize an iconic Brooklyn filmmaker and feature real estate opportunities around Prospect Heights.

When New York Supreme Court Justice Marcy Friedman to properly consider the impact of 25 years of extended construction at , bloggers throughout Brooklyn who have opposed the development were excited to score a victory.

None were more so than Norman Oder of the Atlantic Yards Report, who detailed the ruling's importance in an article for the Huffington Post. He also criticized the coverage the ruling received on AYR.

At The Atlantic's Food blog, Clay Risen criticized Brooklynite and filmmaker Spike Lee for his relationship with Absolut Vodka. By promoting the company's "Absolut Brooklyn," one of a series of "locally inspired" brands, Risen said Lee was "selling out not just his name, but also his borough and its culture."

As always, plenty of discussion about Prospect Heights homes could be found on Brownstoner. The must-read for local real estate junkies reported that 870 Pacific St. is on the market, and featured 61 Eastern Parkway, # 2A, and 240 Prospect Place, #9, as the "Co-op of the Day" on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
