Ash Wednesday Mass Schedule in Prospect Heights

The season of Lent—the traditional period of penance and self reflection begins today—with Ash Wednesday.

Ash Wednesday is celebrated with services in which the faithful are marked with an ash cross on the forehead.

The season of Lent ends with Good Friday and Easter.

If you didn't make it to church this morning, there's still time. Here are the remaining masses for today at Prospect Heights-area churches:

The Church of St. Joseph, 856 Pacific Street, 12:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. 

St. Teresa of Avila Parish, 563 Sterling Place, 7:30 p.m.

St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, 116 6th Ave. in Park Slope, 7:30 p.m.

St. Francis Xavier, 763 President Street in Park Slope, Prayer Service, 4 p.m.; Mass at 7:30 p.m.

St. John’s Episcopal Church, 139 St. John's Place in Park Slope, Mass at 12 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
