Report: Crown Heights Armory To Be Developed

Massive empty space could soon become a community center.

Crown Heights' Bedford-Union Armory could be getting an internal makeover, becoming a community center similar to the Park Slope Armory, according to the New York Daily News.

The NYC Economic Development Corporation is currently seeking a developer to turn the space into a community center that could feature indoor space, art shows and more, the paper wrote Thursday.

The change comes not long after the massive space was turned over to New York City from state control.

The office of Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz has already agreed to put $1 million towards the development.
