Recycle Your E-Waste on Jan. 20

The Lower East Side Ecology Center wants your broken VCR, among other things.

The recent passing of the holidays means you've probably accumulated a fair amount of trash—got to make room for all your sweet new gadgets, after all.

But before you hurl your iPad 2 into the garbage (because Santa brought you an iPad mini, duh), consider taking a restorative walk down to 3rd Street and Prospect Park West in Park Slope on Jan. 20, where you can responsibly recycle your old (or at least boring) electronics.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Acceptable items include working and non-working computers, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, cables, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, cell phones and PDAs.

If you can't make it, don't fret. Items can be deposited five days a week to the e-waste warehouse in Gowanus, located at 69 President St.
