Last Chance: Allium and Some Irises at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden

If you want to see those purple pom-pom like flowers at their peak, head to the garden this weekend.

 

If you're a fan of the bold, purple flowers known as alliums, this is the weekend to see them at the . When Patch visited the garden yesterday they were in full bloom, but given the recent hot weather, they might not last through next week. It's also your last chance to see those enormous periwinkle irises (see photo gallery).

Also currently making a nice showing is columbine in the rock garden and several beds of peonies.
