Residents of Park Slope and the Prospect Heights-area came out on a perfect summer’s eve to celebrate, eat, dance, play drums and learn about crime prevention at Night Out Against Crime in Grand Army Plaza Tuesday for it’s 28th year.
A capoeira group livened up the crowd, beating drums and dancing. There was face painting, old muscle cars showing off their shiny paint jobs, and food was provided by the 78th precinct.
“The first Tuesday in August,” said Pauline Blake, the 78th Precinct’s Community Council President, “is a celebration among residents, safety volunteers and police officers who live and work together to make our neighborhood a better place to live.”
