5 Things You Need to Know Today: Pub Pop Quiz, DanceAfrica 2011, Open Mic, Kids Events, More

Prospect Heights-area information and events you won't want to miss.

1. You need a night out. Ok, it's Memorial Day Weekend and there's just not a lot going on. So although this is now the third day in a row we're mentioning it,   is pretty much the most interesting thing going on nearby. See the full schedule here. (Know of other local events? 2. You need to have fun. Head to Boerum Hill/Park Slope for the pub quiz at , 82 4th Ave. at St. Marks. 8 p.m. No cover.

3. You need to strut your stuff. Head to Park Slope for , where musicians, comedians and anyone else with a talent and some gumption can have their 15 minutes of fame.  , 365 5th Ave. bet. 5th and 6th streets. 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Free.

4. You need to get the kids out of the house. Head to Lefferts Historic House for Potato Planting Dayspread manure, till soil and plant potatoes. 5. You need to know if your train is running and if you have to move your car. There aren't any planned service changes affecting Prospect Heights this weekend, according to the MTA. As for parking, alternate side is suspended Monday for Memorial Day, according to the NYC DOT.
