5 Things You Need to Know Today: P.S. 9 Craft Fair, Free Kids' Show, Park Cleanup, Q Train Changes, More

Prospect Heights events and information you won't want to miss.

 1. You need to get a gift, have lunch and entertain the kids, all at the same time. Head to the at P.S. 9, where there will be 44 local artisan vendors, children's activities all day long including kite- and instrument-making workshops and food for sale by and other vendors. 11:00am–6:00pm , 80 Underhill Ave. (bet. St. Marks and Bergen).

2. You need to get the kids out of the house. Besides the Craft Fair above, there's also  at the Central Library. In this performance, internationally acclaimed musician Etkin and his jazz group wake up “Clara Net” and take her on a musical adventure around the world. 1:00pm , Free. Or, see our .

3. You need to get to the park, and imbue yourself and your kids with the joy of volunteering. Head to Prospect Park for .  10:00am–2:00pm, Meet at the bandshell at Prospect Park West & 9th St.

4. You need a night out. Head to Launchpad, for , a free folk-jazz hybrid concert series. BYOB, 8:00pm–11:00pm, 721 Franklin Ave., bet. Sterling and Park.

5. You need to know if your train is running. The good news: the Q train is running during the day this weekend. But it's not running late at night north of Atlantic. From 12:15 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Saturday, 7 a.m. on Sunday and 5 a.m. on Monday you need to switch at Atlantic from the Q to the N to continue your trip, according to the MTA.
