5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Creative Play, Museum Moonlight Tour, More

Prospect heights-area information and events you won't want to miss.

1. You need to get to the Brooklyn Musuem. Tonight there's   which tonight features  an innovative poetry performance. There's also a "Moonlight Tour," on Ptolemaic Art. Events are free with museum admission of $10, $6 students and seniors. Tickets sometimes sell out on Thursday nights. You can get them in advance here.

2. You need to get to a good film. BAM continues its tonight with "Coming Home" with Jane Fonda, Jon Voight and Bruce Dern. There are showings at 4:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9:50 p.m., but the 7 p.m. showing is followed with a Q&A with cinematographer Haskell Wexler via Skype. BAM Rose Cinemas, 30 Lafayette Ave. $12.

3. You need to learn how to navigate housing court. Tonight Judge Harriet L. Thompson will discuss these issues at . 6:30pm. 444 Clinton Ave (bet. Gates and Greene). Free.

4. You need to get the kids out of the house. Head to Lily and Fig, where there is interactive, creative play from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Linda White, who is leading the event says it works well for any age child from newborn to 12-year-olds. There's also a session tomorrow, same place, Fig from 10 to noon. Free. 727 Franklin Ave. bet. 5. You need to know if your train is running. Today there aren't any planned service changes affecting Prospect Heights, according to the MTA. As for parking, sadly, there's no suspension of alternate side until Memorial Day, according to the NYC DOT.
