5 Things You Need to Know Today: Mega Sidewalk Sale, Free Music, Late-Night Q Troubles and More

Prospect Heights information and events you won't want to miss.

1. You need to go shopping. If that's on the agenda today, head to 5th Avenue for a , offering deals from merchants stretching from Dean Street to 18th Street. This sale, which started yesterday, begins at 10 a.m.

2. You need music. How about  The group brings their combination of classical music, hip-hop, jazz, and other genres to BAM today, with a concert that includes "modern twists on classical favorites such as Peter and the Wolf and The Nutcracker, witty arrangements of everything from Bach to Brubeck, and their own compositions, which include a spirited tribute to Brooklyn," according to BAM. , 30 Lafayette Ave., Sunday, 2 p.m. $15; $10 for kids 13 & under

And the late-night work on the Q Train continues today, meaning from that from 12:15 a.m. to 7 a.m. Sun and 12:15 a.m. to 5 a.m. Mon., Q trains only go from Coney Island to Atlantic. There you trudge to Pacific and take the N. Also the Q will only run every 30 minutes during those periods, according to the MTA.
