5 Things You Need to Know: Running, Composting and More

What you need to know to start your Wednesday off right.

1. You need to get moving. Lululemon will sponsor the “,” meeting at 472 Bergen Street at 7 p.m. The 3-4 mile run goes around Prospect Park and back.

2. You need to learn to compost The will host a workshop on at 6 p.m. Participants can purchase a plastic worm bin and a pound of redworms for $44; email compost@bbg.org in advance.

3. You need to hear a good story. Author will read from "The Arrogant Years," which tells the story of her mother, who fled Cairo after the 1952 Egyptian revolution, and reflects on her own experience as a Jewish Egyptian immigrant in Brooklyn; , 7 p.m.
