2. You need jazz. You've got at least two good choices: AFRAZZ Ronnie Roc at Dean Street (755 Dean Street at Underhill) at 8 p.m. and Tea and Jam at the Tea Lounge (837 Union St. at Seventh Ave.) at 9 p.m. No cover.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. Because of February Break in the public schools, there are a ton of extra weekday events this week, including events all afternoon at the Prospect Park Audobon Center including showings of episodes from Life, a kids nature film series, crafts, nature and bird walks and park clean-ups. See the daily schedule here. Prospect Park Boathouse, right inside the Lincoln Road entrance. 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Free. See our weekly kids calendar for more options.

4. You need to know if your train is running ...  You're fine during the day, but late-night track work continues on the Q line and from 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, Brooklyn bound Q trains will drop you at the Pacific Street N platform. From there you walk over to the Q platform on the Atlantic side, where you wait a really long time (often) and get the connecting Q for the rest of the trip, according to the MTA. (For Manhattn bound trains it's the reverse.) You're probably better off switching to the 2/3 instead.

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Alternate side is suspended today, Feb. 22 for Ash Wednesday, according to the NYCDOT. (Not that this helps us in Prospect Heights ...)
