5 Things to Do Today: Asian Art, Beer & Basketball, Live Roots Music

1. Free Asian Art Tours. The Brooklyn Museum offers a tandem of free tours of their Asian art collection tomorrow, sponsored by Asia Week New York. At 2PM, join the Lisa and Bernard Selz Curator of Asian Art, Joan Cummins, for a tour of highlights from the museum's Asian collection. Then, at 7PM, a museum guide leads a tour exploring similarities between burial artifacts found in China and Egypt.

2. Basketball, Whiskey, and Guinness. As if you needed further enticement to drink beer and watch basketball, Dean Street is offering a drink special today in honor of the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA tournament. A whiskey shot and a Guinness costs $10 all night long, $8 during happy hour. 755 Dean Street.

3. Vinyasa Yoga. If you are in a healthy mood, try Vinyasa yoga at Pura Vida for only $5. Starts at 730PM at 184 Underhill Ave.

4. Stanley John Mitchell and His Band of Buddies. Hear a New Zealand ex-patriate play American roots music at the Way Station. Mitchell came to the States in 1979 and has been playing the city's pubs and bars ever since. In addition to playing guitar and singing, he also plays percussion with his feet. It's a "one man band with friends"! 9:00PM, The Way Station, 683 Washington Ave.

5. Sensory Tour at the Brooklyn Museum. Seeing is just the first step in experiencing art. In this tour, you will be shown the museum with hearing, taste, and touch. The theme this week is "jazz and innovation." Meet on the first floor at 6:00pm, 200 Eastern Parkway. Reservations required at access@brooklynmuseum.org.
