5 Things: Taco Cravings, Dreidel Spin-offs, Quill-writing, More

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

1. You need to try a fried-chicken taco at least once before the end of the year. Why? A. Your diet is already shot. B. "What is probably the most sustainable taco meat you’ll find anywhere." 605 Prospect Place at Franklin Avenue. Open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

2. You need to show off those dreidel skills. Enjoy sushi, latkes, jelly doughnuts, craft beer, music and prizes at the . Everything about that sounds appealing. Franklin Park Bar & Lounge, 618 St Johns Pl. bet Franklin/Classon Ave. 7:30 p.m. Minimum $10 to play.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. After a day of destroying giftwrap, how about some handicrafts? Lefferts House 'Needlecrafts' is just the thing. Kids can try 19th-Century crafts such as needlepoint and quill-writing. Lefferts Historic House at Prospect Park, 1 to 3p.m., Free.

4. You need to know if your train is running ... Between 11:50 p.m. and 5 a.m. weeknights through Dec. 30trains are running every 30 minutes between Atlantic Avenue and Stillwell Avenue. Brooklyn-bound trains will drop you at Pacific and you will have to walk to Atlantic and wait for the next leg (the reverse Manhattan-bound), according to the MTA. Bring a book, the wait can be pretty long.  

5. ... And if you have to move your car. You don’t. Alternate side parking is suspended Dec. 25-26 for Christmas, according to the NYCDOT.
