5 Things: Prospect Park Food Truck Rally, DanceAfrica and Doctor Who

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event highlights you won't want to miss.

 

1. You need Peking duck dumplings and barbecue brisket sliders. The  is back at Grand Army Plaza today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with . 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

2. You need to bond over your love of Doctor Who. Meet other fans of the doctor at , where there will be a  tonight. 683 Washington Ave. bet. St. Marks and Prospect, 5 p.m. Free.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. If you've got older kids, head to BAM for  where the Adanfo Ensemble, Illstyle Peace Productions, Creative Outlet and BAM/Restoration DanceAfrica Ensemble will perform. 3 p.m. Brooklyn Academy of Music Howard Gilman Opera House, 30 Lafayette Ave. at Ashland Place, tickets $20 and up, half price for kids 16 and under.  (For younger kids, there's the Children's Village at the  right outside.)

4. You need to know if your train is running ... It is! There are no planned service changes affecting Prospect Heights stations all weekend. You should note, however, that all weekend there are no No. 4 trains south of Brooklyn Bridge and no No. 5 trains south of Grand Central. The No. 3 train service will be extended to New Lots Avenue, according to the MTA.

5. ... And if you have to move your car. You don't need to today, of course, but you should know that alternate side will be suspended Monday, May 28, for Memorial Day, according to the NYCDOT.
