5 Things: Sufjan Stevens, Fighting Crime, Burlesque, Laughs and Kelsey Grammer for Mayor

Prospect Heights-area information and events you won't want to miss.

  1. You need to catch Sufjan Stevens. Hopefully, you already have a ticket because the show is sold out. The indie rocker will be playing at the Prospect Park Bandshell on Prospect Park West and 9th Street, gates open at 6 p.m.
  2. You need to fight crime. The 28th is tonight at 7 p.m. in the , on Prospect Park West and Flatbush Avenue. The 77th and 78th police precincts will unite with the community to enjoy food, games and learn about crime prevention. Free admission.
  3. You need to enjoy burlesque. Tonight, The Wasabassco Burlesque Debut Revue hits the stage at at 9 p.m. This show is loaded with newbies shaking their bons-bons, including Apathy Angel, Lucille Ti Amore, Porcelain and SoCo Limón. You must be 21 years or older. Tickets are $10 at the door. 702 Union Street, between 5th and 6th avenues.
  4. You need to laugh. Check out ’s . Local and national comics start at 8:30 p.m. Free entry, but there is a one-drink minimum. 807 Classon Avenue at St. Johns Place.
