5 Things: Alternate Side Changes Next Week and J. Renee at Way Station

Prospect Heights-area alternate side, subway and event information you won't want to miss.

 

1. You need music. Head to the  for , a singer, songwriter and composer who sings classic soul with a dash of hip-hop, R&B and indie rock. Electric Monday is at 9, j. Renee at 10 p.m. 683 Washington Ave. bet. St. Marks and Prospect, free.

2 You need to do your part. On Saturday, help out at the , cleaning up those woody hills on Grand Army Plaza. 10 a.m. Meet at Plaza St. East and Vanderbilt Avenue. We're telling you now so you can plan for it.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. Want to go roller skating with the kids but don't want to invest in the equipment? Today there will be skate and safety equipment rental and instruction by Skate Truck NYC at the 3rd Street entrance to the Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last rental at 3 p.m.).  

4. You need to know if your train is running ... It is! There are no subway changes affecting Prospect Heights stations all weekend, according to the MTA.

5. ... and if you have to move your car. Nope. You're good for awhile because on Mon/Tues Sept. 17-18 for Rosh Hashanah, according to the NYCDOT.
