5 Things: No Q Train All Weekend (Including Monday), Afro/Indie Pop, More

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

1. You need to see a good film, and then talk about it. Head to BAM for a showing of "The Tested," which is part of its New Voices in Black Cinema series. The showing will be followed by a Q & A with the director and several actors. Brooklyn Academy of Music, 6:50 p.m. 30 Lafayette Ave., $12.

2. You need Afro/Indie Pop. Head to The Way Station to hear The Fancy Shapes. 683 Washington Ave. bet. Prospect and St. Marks. No cover.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. Not a lot going on in Prospect Heights today, so head to the Pacific Library for Preschool Storytime for kids 3-5 from 10:45-11:30 a.m. or Arts and Crafts for older kids from 4-5. Pacific Library, 25 4th Ave. at Pacific St. Free. See our weekly kids calendar for more options.

4. You need to know if your train is running ...  At night, not too well. As part of the "FastTrack" repairs are no 2 or 3 trains between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. all week, but the 4 train will run locally and serve Prospect Heights stations. Plus, between 11:45 and 5 a.m., the Q train will be doing that great thing where it drops you at Pacific, where you then drag over to Atlantic and wait for the next leg of the trip, according to the MTA. Plus, over the weekend (which includes MONDAY!) there will be no Q trains north of the Prospect Park station. You can get a shuttle bus at Seventh Avenue to go to Atlantic for the N/R to the city (or to Prospect Park to catch the Q southbound).

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Sorry, you do. But then you're good until Tuesday because alternate side will be suspended Monday, Feb. 20, for Washington's Birthday, according to the NYCDOT.
