5 Things: BAM Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jazz Jam, Storytelling Series, Late-Night Q Annoyance, More

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

1. You need to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy. Head to BAM for its 26th Annual Brooklyn Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 30 Lafayette Ave. Get there early to get in. One ticket per person. 10:30 a.m. Free.

2. You need a night out. Several options right in the neighborhood tonight including ,   and .

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. The  has events honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. all day today. See the schedule here. 145 Brooklyn Ave. bet. 4. You need to know if your train is running ... Today trains run on a weekday schedule, though there might be slightly fewer trains on some lines. But tonight, between 11:45 p.m. and 5 a.m. weeknights through Fridaytrains are running every 30 minutes between Atlantic Avenue and Stillwell Avenue. Brooklyn-bound trains will drop you at Pacific and you will have to walk to Atlantic and wait for the next leg (the reverse Manhattan-bound), according to the MTA.

5. ... And if you have to move your car. You don't! Alternate side will be suspended on Jan. 16 for MLK Day, according to the NYCDOT.
