5 Things: Job Fair, Nom de Plume Talk and Late-Night Q Delays

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

 

1. You need a job. Head to Brooklyn's . Wear business attire and bring plenty of resumes. PS 375, 46 McKeever Pl (between Sullivan Place and Montgomery Street, nearthe Prospect Park station on the B/Q or Sterling St. on the 2/5). 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free. 

2. You need to march against gun violence. Participate in SOS Crown Heights' , Brower Park, Kingston Avenue and Park Place. Noon. Afterwards there will be a block party.

3. You need some intellectual stimulation. Head to the  for . 10 Grand Army Plaza, 7 p.m. Free. 

4. You ned to get the kids out of the house. School is closed today, but there are a bunch of great options to occupy the little ones including the  which includes a kids concert, children's theater, a magic show, a zumba class, face painting and balloon animals (.) , 10 Grand Army Plaza, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Free. See our  for several more options.

5. You need to know if your train is running ... If you take the train late at night, probably not. Between 11:45 p.m. and 5 a.m. The Q trains are running every 30 minutes between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center (can't get used to the ) and Stillwell Avenue. Brooklyn-bound trains will drop you at Pacific and you will have to walk to Atlantic-Barclays (gag) and wait for the next leg (the reverse Manhattan-bound). In addition, there are no No. 4 trains between Brooklyn Bridge and Utica Avenue from midnight to 5 a.m. Instead take the 3 train. For more information see the MTA site.   

5.5 ... And if you have to move your car. You do; the next alternate side suspension won't be until Wednesday, July 4, according to the NYCDOT. (And the next alternate side suspension that actually helps people in Prospect Heights won't be until Monday, August 20 for Idul-Fitr.)
