Open House for Sundays at JASA

Sundays at JASA is a one-of-a-kind, college-level continuing education program for adults 55+. If you’re interested in registering for our 2014 Spring semester, please attend our annual Open House on Sunday, February 9 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at John Jay College, North Hall, 445 West 59th Street, New York, NY 10019. The event is a great opportunity to hear from instructors about the upcoming semester, mingle with new friends and old, and of course, register for courses.
The 2014 Spring semester (February 16-May 18) offers a wide range of events, workshops, and lectures focused on political and social issues, computers, healthy mind & body, arts, Judaic studies, culture, and history. Highlighted courses include “Laughter Yoga,”Conversational Spanish,” and “Pondering Politics,” a course exploring political movements throughout history with lecturers including NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, and many more. The spring semester also offers a series of insightful NextAct lectures, such as “City of Ambition: FDR, LaGuardia, and the Making of Modern New York,” where author Mason B. Williams discusses his book on the brilliant history of the New Deal and its role in the making of modern New York City.

Each student may attend as many courses as they wish but pre-registration with a fee of $150 is required. Payment arrangements are available, as is scholarship assistance.
