More About Brooklyn Museum
Along Prospect Heights' southeastern edge sits the Brooklyn Museum, one of the oldest and largest museums in the U.S. The musem's origins can be traced all the way back to 1823, although it has been at its current location since the late 19th century.
The museum's encyclopedic art collection ranges from African to contemporary American art. Notable elements of its permanent collection include the second largest Ancient Egyptian exhibit on the East Coast, all the way to the current era, to Judy Chicago's The Dinner Party, which is the centerpiece of the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art.
