Woman Robbed at Gunpoint on Carlton and St. Marks

The attack happened at about 12:50 a.m. Monday morning.

A 25-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint on Carlton Avenue between St. Marks and Bergen early Monday morning, the woman and police said.

“He held a pistol up to my temple and he’s like ‘give me all your money,’” said the woman. “I tried to fight back but he kind of took me in a lock-hold and pressed me against the SUV.”

The attack took place at 1:50 a.m., police said.

The woman, a hairdresser who lives on Dean Street near Vanderbilt, told the man she only had $10, but she said, “He patted me down in a pretty disgusting way, then ripped my ring off my finger and took my glasses off and threw them under the car.”

He also took her purse, containing her wallet, house keys and brand-new iphone, she said.

At her request, the man let the woman feel for her glasses under the car, but said “if you expletive turn around I’ll kill you right now,” she said, adding that at one point she heard “the click” as he released the gun’s safety.

Then the man told her to walk to the end of the block, and said that if she turned around he would kill her.

“All I wanted to do was scream, but I was so afraid I was going die,” she said.

The woman agreed to tell Patch the story so area residents would know to be careful.

“I don’t want other people to get assaulted on the block,” she said.

This is the second area gunpoint robbery in two days. Yesterday two men held up the AT&T store a few blocks away on Flatbush Avenue at Park Place.

I believe there was another violent assault last week on St Marks nr Carlton when someone leaving the restuarant James was attacked -- but not robbed.

Concerned local residents should try to attend the next meeting of the 77th Precinct Community Council -- next Monday night at Duryea Church (Sterling & Underhill). The meeting will begin at 7:30 and the commanding officer will be participating.
