Writers around Brooklyn reacted to a new play by The Civilians.

Prospect Heights Patch's Rachel Merrill Moss enjoyed watching The Civilians new theatrical analysis of the Atlantic Yards saga, . Apparently, she wasn't the only one. Writers around brooklyn are talking about the innovative new production, that combines reporting, acting and song.

Uche Abanobi, writing for the New York Times' The Local blog, got a backstage look at the production. He spoke with actors and the director about the unique role theater can play in the Atlantic Yards debate, and took some excellent photography of the prediction.

Meanwhile, the ever-vigilant Norman Oder, writing at his blog The Atlantic Yards Report, explored the play's investigation of race class and gentrification.

Brownstoner kept its watchful eye on the bustling commercial districts along Vanderbilt and Washinghton Avenues. They noted that Washington Avenue's Cafe Shane has reopened, and now includes an extended eating space named "Shane Bar." They also took a glance inside Prospect Bagels, which is steadily making progress.
