PHOTOS: Five Baby Swans Join the Flock on Prospect Park Lake

While Prospect Park officials have been by coating them with oil to keep them from hatching, the swans have been free to procreate at will.

The result: five baby swans, aka cygnets, which hatched to the joy of proud parents Sedna, the mom and Jaws, the father, Saturday morning at about 7 a.m., according to wildlife rehabilitator Anne-Katrin Titze, who, with her partner Ed Bahlman, found the cygnets. 

"Their nest was off of Duck Island in the phragmites hundreds of feet away from the shoreline and safe from the possibility of fishing entanglements," she wrote.

They join the , despite the addling.
