The New Jersey Nets irked the New York Knicks this summer when they hung a 1,200 foot banner on a skyscraper near Madison Square Garden. It appears the Knicks have retaliated.

Just a block away from the Barclays Center, where the Nets will play once the arena is completed, the Knicks have hung a large advertisement picturing Amare Stoudemire, the Knicks big offseason acquisition, with the words "Brooklyn Represent."

"I'm glad to see they know where Brooklyn is," Nets CEO Brett Yormark said. "Clearly, they know what's coming."

The Knicks could not be reached for comment, but Yormark told the New York Daily News he sees the banner as a "defensive maneuver."

The banner is hung on a building that will eventually be demolished as the rest of Atlantic Yards is developed.
